Bonn ID card<\/strong><\/h2><\/summary>
\n

The Bonn ID card is for people with limited financial resources. With the Bonn ID card, you can receive discounts on certain services or entrance fees in Bonn. To receive a Bonn ID card, you must meet certain requirements. For example, your primary residence must be in Bonn. At the same time, you must prove that you live on limited financial resources. This means you either receive social benefits, e.g., under the Asylum Seekers’ Benefits Act, or you receive basic social security benefits, or you have a low income that does not exceed a certain amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting around Bonn using public transport<\/strong><\/div><\/summary>

The buses and light rail systems in Bonn are part of the Bonn public utility company. The abbreviation for this system is SWB. Tickets for a journey can be purchased at various locations: at ticket machines at many stops and on the light rail systems, in the VRS app, and at various local service points: https:\/\/www.swb-busundbahn.de\/service\/kontakt-und-infos\/verkaufsstellen\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SWB buses are wheelchair accessible. To board a bus with a wheelchair, you should signal to the bus driver upon arrival. Or press the button with the wheelchair symbol on the second bus door. There is a ramp at this door. The ramp can be folded out by bus staff or other people. This will allow you to board the bus. When the destination stop is announced, press the button with the wheelchair symbol on the bus. This lets the bus driver know that you want to get off at the next stop and that they need to fold out the ramp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some bus stops are equipped with information kiosks that announce the next bus routes when a button is pressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All SWB buses provide audible announcements of stops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not all trams in the SWB area are wheelchair accessible. Accessible stops and trams are marked with a wheelchair symbol on the route maps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next stops are announced audibly on all trams and at all tram stops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All tram stops on lines 16, 18, 63, 66, and 67 have tactile elements. A few stops on lines 61, 62, and 65 are still not equipped with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some elevators leading to the platforms at tram stops have audible floor announcements. However, there is no current overview of broken elevators in the SWB area, nor is there a 24\/7 telephone number to inform about them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assistance dogs are permitted on both buses and trains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
